MEET THE TEAM

Joseph C. Landa, was born in 1953 to Cuban immigrant parents, Jose and Illuminda Landa. Exposed from a very young age to the world of high-end interior furnishings, his parents opened up their showroom in 1953 with a single dream: to create elegant design furnishings.  What began as a storefront in Woodside, NY has now evolved into a state of the art production facility in Astoria, NY under the masterful direction of J.C., and endless support from his wife Susana, and their three sons.

Landa has provided boundless insight, artistry, and attention to detail as the visionary for the firm. With more than 30 years of dedicated service, his work can be seen in prestigious residential and commercial projects across the globe. Interiors by J.C. Landa is proud to now include the Smith & Watson name to their repertoire. With J.C. Landa’s innovative and aesthetic genius as the driving force, the brand is set to launch a brand new line of furniture in 2016.

Susana Landa, wife of J.C. Landa, has committed over thirty years to the prosperity of the J.C. Landa line of brands. Born in Havana, Cuba, Susana’ family immigrated to the United States where she later met her middle-school sweetheart and long term companion, Joseph Landa. Together they transformed his parent’s small shop into a hugely successful and internationally acclaimed production firm. Susana is credited for building and managing a high profile book of business for over two decades. She is not only loved and respected by her clients and employees, but lights up the workplace with her vibrant personality and quick witted sense of humor. Her contributions and insight are central to maintaining the company’s strong sense of values and family-first philosophy.

Joseph Landa Jr., 30, has served as a Senior Director for Interiors by J.C. Landa for the past ten years. With his incredibly clever business sense and whatever-it-takes mentality, his contributions to the firm have not only been immeasurable but crucial to the success of the brand. Joseph Jr. (known to his clients as Joe Jr. or Joey) has a rare ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders. Joe endeavors to reintroduce the Smith & Watson brand by incorporating the antique pieces into modern spaces.

Daniel Landa, 26, serves as Director of Business Development for Interiors by J.C. Landa. Daniel plays a critical role in the growth and success of the company, as he masterfully pairs his entrepreneurial spirit with unparalleled patience. Not only does he have a noteworthy ability to build rapport with his clients, but is also applauded as the harmonizing force behind Interiors by J.C. Landa and the Smith and Watson brand. Daniel’s accommodating and even-tempered nature allows him to swiftly close deals and broaden the scope of business. As the risk-taker of the team, he’s quick to take on new business ventures, and is constantly breaking down barriers.

Joseph and Susana Landa and their sons Joe, Alex, and Daniel, are active supporters of philanthropic organizations such as the National Down Syndrome Society, the Special Olympics, the Make-a-Wish Foundation and Doctors Without Borders. For many years, Alex Landa was a participant in the Special Olympics.

The Landa Family is proud of their long-time commitment to children. Each year, Interiors By J.C. Landa participates in the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club Decorator Show House, which raises money for enrichment programs and services for children ages 6 through 18.

Aside from supporting children's causes, the Landa Family has been preserving and restoring historic homes for more than 20 years. Under the direction of Joseph Landa, they have carefully restored historic homes in Miami Beach and New York.
